Building a new campus for women,

children, and families in Kern County

No one expects they’ll need our services.

Until they do.

Every day in Kern County, women, children, and families face the unthinkable —domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and cycles of trauma that threaten their safety and stability. The Open Door Network exists to meet these moments with hope, resources, and a path forward, and we’re proud of the impact we’ve made alongside this community.

We must reach beyond who we serve today.

Bakersfield has grown over the past two decades but faces rising poverty, homelessness, sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence.

To meet this need, The Open Door Network (TODN) is building a new, consolidated campus in the heart of one of Bakersfield’s most underserved areas. Expanded space, enhanced programs, and modern facilities will allow us to reach more people, provide vital services, and ensure that families have a path forward.

In addition to restoring lives, this project strengthens our local economy. TODN’s new facility will expand workforce training, create new permanent jobs, equip children for educational success, and fuel self-sufficiency for families across Kern County.

Individuals Served Annually:

737 sheltered currently, 1,480+ in a future state. 175 survivors supported currently, 250+ in a future state. 810 families found a home currently, 990+ in a future state.

At The Open Door Network, we help individuals heal and reimagine their futures.

This new campus will allow us to increase capacity by 40%
and serve 3,900+
unduplicated, low-income individuals annually by 2031.
